Port Hughes is one of the prettiest northern beaches on Yorke Peninsula, and is located in the Copper Coast area on the western coastline of the peninsula.
The jetty is popular to fish from – you can expect to catch squid and tommies all year around.
Feeling hungry?…head to the Tavern located right by the jetty, enjoy the fresh seafood and admire the view of the boats going out for their daily catch.
The Port Hughes General Store is next to the Tavern and has basic supplies, fuel and takeaway meals; and is also well known for it’s Big Beach Brekky, served in a frypan.
On the southern side of the township is a housing development which includes the Greg Norman designed PGA-standard golf course – The Dunes Port Hughes. If you are a serious golfer, you can join Copper Club or take lessons with a golf-pro. For an after-game drink or meal, drop in at The Deck Bar & Cafe.
Port Hughes provides a variety of accommodation, from budget to executive, all within a short walking distance to the beach and facilities.
Located just a 5 minute drive away is Moonta, which is the service centre for Port Hughes and Moonta Bay. Services and shops including a large supermarket, butcher, chemist, bakery, hardware store, antique shops and more can all be found here.
Port Hughes is located approximately 2 hours from Adelaide.
